EvalYouth in North America

Description

EvalYouth North America (EYNA) launched in 2022, primarily serving Canada and the United States (given Mexico’s active EY national chapter). This chapter was established to provide a financially accessible avenue for young and emerging evaluators to build awareness of evaluation career opportunities and skill-build to achieve these goals! Foundational structure consisted of a working group board. EYNA events have historically been hosted at gLOCAL Evaluation Week, Eval4Action’s Youth in Evaluation Week, and the American Evaluation Association’s annual conference.

EYNA is piloting a restructure of board roles and launch of the first iteration of general membership; these changes launched in Fall of 2024. The board structure articulated below reflects this change. General membership includes access to bi-monthly virtual social and professional development check-in meetings, communication around EYNA and EYNA partner-hosted events and resources, and (optional) access to a YEE messaging forum. We also have high hopes to expand services to include structured peer mentorship opportunities and an annual virtual YEE symposium. Membership is free and accessible to all YEEs in North America. “YEE advocates” who do not fit into the YEE definition are welcome to connect with EYNA to thought partner around how they can support and advocate for youth and YEE voice in evaluation processes.
